Reactivate my blog at kurtgielen.me

    Hello,

    I wanted to pick up my blogging again which I did for a while at kurtgielen.me. I reactivated the url at namecheap however I am not able to reactive my blog from my WordPress account. Who can tell me how I can do this?

    Hi there,

    That domain has never been connected to a WordPress.com site. The site you used to have at that domain was built using the open source WordPress software, and it was installed on another hosting provider’s servers.

    You’d need to contact that hosting provider directly to find out if they still have any backups of your site on their servers.

    If not, you can also try searching for your site at https://web.archive.org/ – they might still have an old snapshot of your site on their end, which will hopefully allow you to recover at least some of your original content.

    Hello Kokkieh,

    Thank you for your reply. In the meantime I realized that I needed to activate WordPress via namecheap.com. So now kurtgielen.me is live again!

    I also think I used to work with Dreamhost in the past, so I have contacted them to see if I can get a download from my old files.

    So thanks again, you’ve helped me get back into blogging. And for that I am very grateful!
