read more tag

    hi!
    I am trying to use the read more tag in one of my pages but it is not working.
    I tried pasting as text and it is still not working.
    Is the tag only useable in blog posts?

    Hi there,

    The more-tag can only be used in posts, yes, as it only displays on the main posts list and the various archive pages.

    Pages always load in full – they’re not listed in any feed on your site – so adding the more tag to a page will have no effect.

    If you want to split the content on your pages you need to use the nextpage tag instead to split one page into several shorter pages:
