Readability issues for pull quotes due to low-contrast text colour

I had a reader of my blog complain that the style I was using (Penscratch) meant the pull quotes had insufficient contrast, as they were grey-on-white. I only have a free, hosted account, so I cannot edit the CSS to darken the text to make it more readable, and I cannot find anything in a customisation settings to change this. Since this is a baked-in style choice, it would be good if it could either be edited or tweaked on the back end.

  • Hi there,

The Penscratch theme was retired quite some time ago, and no longer receive any updates. It has been replaced with a newer version called Penscratch 2:

I’ll file an enhancement request for this in Penscratch 2, but this theme is not tagged as accessibility-ready so it wasn’t specifically designed to have the contrast levels you typically see in accessible themes, and I cannot guarantee this is a change that will be made.

Thanks. I’ve changed over, and if some slightly darker text could work its way it to the theme, that would be awesome.
