  I set the blog to chow categoreis and to only show a summary for the post. I added a new post and published it but it is showing up as the whole post not a summary and the category isn’t listed on the sidebar.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That summary setting only applies to your blog’s RSS feed. To do what you are looking to do, you need to use the “more” tag:
