Receive "Nameserver not registered" when updating nameservers

    Hi

I purchased my domain through wordpress.com and I now wish to point that domain to my new webhost. I have spent roughly 2 weeks setting up the nameservers using my hosts cPanel/WHM interface and according to cPanel support, everything should now be set up correct.

But still when I follow instructions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/ on how to set nameservers I get “nameserver not registered”.

WordPress.com so called happiness engineers claim this a problem with the name servers at my web host.

But my web host says that this is a problem at my registrar. I quote: “As far as your Registrar goes for reporting that the nameservers are not registered, that’s because they must be registered at the registrar. The vast majority of domain registrars required you to manually register nameservers within their API – they’re should be an option for it in their domain management panel.”

Do I need to pre registe rmy nameservers somehow at wordpress.com? I have not found any guide for this.
If not, what could possibly be wrong at my web host?

Please help. This has turned in to a nightmare, why is this so extremely difficult? We used a web host recommended by wordpress.com, wpwebhost.
