  Do you have a multi-author site? Being a Private site I cannot see that information. If so, does anyone have “post by email” enabled? Is it possible that their email account was accessed without their knowledge or compromised?

  Can you please provide some more details on exactly what is happening?

  Are you receiving emails from a WordPress.com site? If so, what is the site’s address?

  No subscription emails generated by WordPress.com sites contain attachments, so if the email contains an attachment and/or the FROM address is not a @wordpress.com address, those emails are not coming from our system.
