Receiving random comments

Hi! I am receiving numerous random comments (clearly from bots or people not reading my site) in broken English on my posts. What does this mean? Why are they doing this and what is the purpose? Does this mean my site is hacked or targeted? Do I need to do anything? I can’t imagine blocking them would do any good as they are constantly coming from different usernames. Most seem to be from China but other places as well. Thank you!

Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your website. However, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
With that said, it sounds like you’re receiving comment spam (like email spam, but for sites), and we recommend https://akismet.com/ for that.
