Recover Lost Blog in Incognito Mode

  My computer recently froze and I was writing a blog in Incognito Mode (stupid I know) but when it closed down Google Chrome, none of my writing was brought back up! I honestly had about 4 pages written with pictures and everything. Is there anyway to recover the file I was working on. Will wordpress have a saved copy? What do I do, I’m freaking out at all the hard work I just lost!!!!

  Hi there,

  If you used the “Save” button to save your blog while you were writing it, you’ll find a draft of that post in your drafts here:

  https://wordpress.com/posts/drafts

  I’d also recommend not writing posts in incognito mode, because if your browser closes nothing you do in incognito mode is saved in the browser. If you’re working in the regular mode, your work will also be saved in your browser’s local storage.

  Thanks for the response. I appreciate the quick feedback, and I know how dumb it was to not hit the “Save” button and also be working in incognito mode (habit because I use other people’s computers and that way they don’t have to bother with my web browsing).

  I was hoping that maybe wordpress.com had auto saved it somehow but it seems it has been lost to the mysterious interweb. lol

  After a few drinks I was able to motivate myself to start all over! So hopefully the second draft is better than the first one!
