Recovering / Deleting Account and Blog

    I last started a blog in 2009 and have since let it go and deleted the email address that was used. I created a new blog to attempt to start again or recover / merge with the old one with no luck. At this time, all that I want to do is recover access to https://michaelsmitchell.wordpress.com/ and edit or remove the content. The email address that I think was used to start the blog is (email visible only to moderators and staff) (which has been closed for some time, hence my troubles). Thank you in advance for any assistance. – Michael

    Hi there,

    If you aren’t able to provide an email from the email address with which the blog was registered, a PayPal transaction ID, or the original activation link, I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you recover the account.

    In order to regain access to your account, the best bet is to try to temporarily regain access to the e-mail associated with the account .

    We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might try to use our support system to gain access to other users’ accounts.

    However, if there’s personal information on your blog, I would be happy to set it to private for you so search engines and users can’t access it – just let me know.
