Recovering old username for another account

    I planned to make two accounts on WordPress, one for my pseudonym and another for my personal blog. The first account I made was associated to the wrong site, so I thought I would change my username. From the warning text it didn’t seem to mention losing the old username forever, so I went ahead. When I got around to making the other account it said it was closed. I tried to fill in the recovery form but it required a proof of ownership, something I didn’t note down before losing the username (nobody told us it was important). Can the administrator please reopen my old username?
