Recovering Site Name

    Hello, i’m new to WordPress and tinkered around with various themes, settings and names for my blog. I settled for a name and then changed my mind and changed the name as well. But afterwards i thought of instead of changing all the content i’ll just delete the blog altogether and start fresh.

    Problem is now i can’t choose the name i wanted, i thought if i delete the site the name will automatically become available again. But that is not the case, now when i try to choose the same name it says the name is already taken and the link is still active:

    Any way of recovering this name?

    There are warnings saying only delete a site if you don’t want to use the address again in the future.

    clasicliberal.wordpress.com is no longer available.
    The authors have deleted this site.

    If the site was deleted less than 30 days ago it may be possible for WordPress.com staff to restore it. I have added the modlook tag to ask a member of staff to check.
