Recovery Mode not initialized.

I tried adding code to my function.php file and now I can’t get into my admin, my live site is down, and the link that was sent for “Recovery Mode” is giving me an error of “Recovery Mode not initialized”. How do I get back into my admin so I can remove the code? No recovery steps are working and we are on the free plan.
