Recovery of content from old website

    Hi,

Awhile back I had a vision of starting a blog.

I got all the neccesities (domain name and hosting service (bluehost)). And I starting making pages and writing a lot of imo opinion useful information. However things turned to the worse and I put all of the blogging aside to focus on other things.

However now I’m back in the spirits and while I did know my domain has expired I did not think all the hours I’ve put into shaping my website (blog) would go lost.

But it does seem all the content is long gone and I was wondering if there is anyway for me to recover some of the information I had on my blog before the domain got expired?

    Thank you in advance

  • That domain was neither registered or hosted here, so it would have been using the WordPress software from https://wordpress.org/

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

The site was also not using our backup product https://jetpack.com/upgrade/backup/ so we won’t be able to directly assist with this.

Your best option would be to contact your former hosting provider to ask if they still have a backup of your account with them.

If they do not, you’re welcome to start a new site with us via https://wordpress.com/start and you can copy/paste your content from an archived copy, like https://web.archive.org/web/20181007235521/https://www.investinyour20s.com/

Even if your domain were to expire with us, we’d keep your content around as long as you don’t specifically delete it.
