Redesigning a website
-
I am trying to figure out the easiest way to create a duplicate of a website that already exists in WordPress to edit and redesign without working on an active and live website. The idea is to create a copy with all the forms and files intact and then connect the domain from the active website to the redesigned duplicate. I am fairly new to WordPress and am not really sure where to begin this process. Any tips or suggestions would be very appreciated.

Hi there!
I couldn’t load the site at california.epiccharterschools.org but it doesn’t look like you have a site with us on WordPress.com, at least, not under this WordPress.com account.
If your site is hosted by a different company, it’s using the WordPress.org software. On this forum, we can primarily help with WordPress.com sites. There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org
For creating an exact copy of your site, I would suggest reaching out to your hosting company to see if they have some sort of cloning system built in for you to use. I know some hosting companies do, so you’d need to reach out to your hosting service provider.
The WordPress.org forums are also a great place to ask for help with WordPress.org-related questions. You can post on https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ to get help from the WordPress.org community.
