Redirect back to wordpress.com keeps happening
-
I recently moved from wordpress.com to a self-hosted wordpress.org, but every time I try to access my new wp-admin page, I get redirected back to the wordpress.com page and get an error because it no longer exists. I have tried emptying all cache and cookie info, but this problem is still happening. Any thoughts for how to leave wordpress.com behind me and access my new admin page?

This is wordpress.COM support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.
(3) sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

Seems to be a network issue where I keep getting rerouted back to my wordpress.com page. It said to ask here on my error page (and to blame Andy), which is why I came here.

Hi there,
Is this for simplebiologist.com?
That domain is not pointed to us in any way any more, and it correctly loads your SiteGround site for me.
How long ago did you change the names servers on that domain? If it has been less than 72 hours, it’s possible the name servers are still propagating. Give it another day or so, and then clear your cache again.
If it’s already been a day or two, and clearing your browser cache doesn’t work, it could also be your computer’s own DNS cache. The instructions to clear that are very specific to the operating system you use, so please Google the instructions for your particular setup.
If none of that works, please contact your domain provider so they can check the domain’s settings on their end. We don’t have any control over, or access to that domain any more.
