Redirect service to a website with different URL structure = 404 errors.

    I am migrating from a wordpress.com site to one I am hosting elsewhere.

    I have just purchased the Redirect service to redirect:

    http://www.manchesterguitartuition.wordpress.com
    to
    http://www.stockportguitarlessons.com

    It works for some of the pages, and thankfully the main url, but the site structures are different.

    For instance there is no relevant alternative for /see-music or /listen on the new site and therefore I’m redirected to the new site with a made up /see-music url that doesn’t really exist.

    Some other urls could be related to pages on the new site e.g /the-studio could go to /music-technology-lessons but the service isn’t automatically working this out and again I’m being redirected to none existent urls.

    So:

    – Is it possible to manually manage the 301 redirect for each page so that they go to a relevant page on the new site?

    – If not, is there anything wrong with creating a 301 on my new website to redirect the incorrect redirects?! I’m worried Google might view this as some weird link loop hole.

    – Does it matter to Google SERP/SEO stuff if some of the 301’s are broken as long as the main 301 from the domain is working?

    It is not.

    That would seem like the best solution to me. But I cannot speak to how Google would view it.
