I would like for when a user clicks onto my store link to be automatically redirected to my big cartel site. How do I achieve this? I am using the twenty thirteen theme and have been unsuccessful so far.

Hi there, you can get that working by adding a link to your Big Cartel store in your custom menu.
In your custom menu area, click the Links tab. Then, add the address of your Big Cartel store in the URL field. Add some link text for the menu item like “Store” or “Our Store”, and click the “Add to Menu” button:
