Referrer Mysteriously Disappeared
-
Howdy,
I run a small music translation wordpress, and was viewing my stats page recently, when I noticed all refers from youtube have suddenly disappeared (not just from today, but from all time).I had thought I accidentally clicked the button to flag the referrer as spam earlier today, but upon doing research, the forums say that when clicked an “undo” button should appear, which didn’t in my case, so I’m guessing I couldn’t have clicked the “flag spam” button in the first place.
If that wasn’t the cause though, I’m not too sure what happened, but having information about these links is important so I can support the video makers. Is there anything one can do about this?
Thanks for any help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is an immediate undo only. If you do not se it right away then there is no way to reverse and have the referrer display again at this time.

Further documentation can be found here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#marking-spam-referrersPlease note that you can undo the action immediately after clicking on it, but it will not be possible to undo it later, after you have left your stats page. However, this is only removing referrers from showing up in your stats, not preventing people from visiting your site, so it shouldn’t have any impact on your site or your overall stats.

I am fairly sure this isn’t the case. An undo button did not appear when I did think I clicked flag spam on the original referrer, and afterwards, just to make sure I wasn’t just dumb and missed it the first time, I tried clicking flag spam on other (less important) referrers and nothing at all happened, they didn’t disappear nor did an undo button appear.

Sorry, what I’m meaning to say is that it would seem some other cause is behind this, unless firefox has some issue with these links and I’m unaware, because what should have happened had it been marked as spam did not occur.

Hi there,
Is there a specific YouTube referrer that is missing from your stats? I just checked your blog’s stats, and I do see YouTube referrers listed there.
You can check those my going to your My Stats page and clicking the “Summaries” link in the Referrers box. I see “youtube.com” as one of your top all-time referrers, and you can click there to see a full list of the referrers from YouTube.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

That’s strange, I’m not seeing any referrers from YouTube at all.

Thanks for that screenshot! I’m checking with our team to get that fixed for you. I’ll let you know as soon as I have an update from them. :)

Can you please check your stats page again? (You may need to refresh the page.) You should see youtube.com in your referrers now. :)
