I signed up for a free account and tested out the professional services (the $99/year one) and I do NOT want the upgrade. I canceled today (when I was told I should or otherwise be charged) but the transaction is posted in my bank account.

The transaction was being processed, but it hasn’t gone through yet. I just voided the transaction, which means it has been cancelled from our end and the funds will be released back to you. If those funds aren’t released soon, you may need to contact your credit card company for more information about that.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help, or if there’s anything we can do to make the WordPress.com Premium plan more useful to you. :)
