Refund not received for cancellation of domain mapping

My domain mapping (for michaelmelchior.com) renewed automatically on December 4th, 11 months after first activating it on January 3rd. Within 48hrs, I promptly canceled the domain mapping, and requested a refund. Now, nearly a month later, I’m still waiting…
The domain has been been removed, but the refund has not been processed. I need help.
My issues are:
1) Why did my mapping renew at the 11 month mark, and not 1yr. Why is WordPress renewing early without notice or my permission?
2) Why must I navigate a public forum to receive help on billing matters. There should be a direct email support option. This is, in my opinion, very poor customer service.
3) Why has my refund taken nearly a month to process? You bill me early, then refund late.I’m not particularly happy with the level of service and/or support. The last month has caused me to reconsider whether I’ll use WordPress in the future, personally or professionally.

Two weeks, and no response. How is one expected to actually communicate with WordPress support via these forums?

Domains renew 30 days before expiring (if you have auto renew enabled) so if there is a problem with the renewal (expired credit card etc) there is time to correct the problem so there is not a gap in service or your domain name stops working – the renewal is good for a full year
