Refunding renewal charge
-
Hello,
I have been navigating the “contact support” section in hopes of finding a phone number. I read the FAQ’s and saw that domain renewals are nonrefundable but when a random charge after a year puts my bank account in the red, I figure that making my case to a human couldn’t hurt. I think WP is a fabulous site and would like to believe that there are good people behind it that understand that not everything is black and white. Right? That’s all.
Love,

Exactly which blog are you referring to? Please post the URL because there has been nothing published on http://myfavoriteblogger.wordpress.com/ since February 27, 2008

I am happy to help you sort this out. We are not in the business of making mysterious charges to credit cards.
However, I am not seeing any upgrades as being active on the account you are posting from. So I must echo timethief’s question and ask what blog or domain this is referring to?

I also need to get a refund for a blog I did not realize was there. It says I have an upgrade? My invoice says “Issues with this transaction?
You have 45 days from the date of the transaction to open a dispute in the Resolution Center”. Where is the Resolution Center? Apparently I have “Premium for http://creativewellblog.wordpress.com” -
I’d be happy to refund your WordPress.com Premium Upgrade for you. Since you’ve used it to register a domain name, there are two ways we can proceed:
1) I can refund your entire Premium purchase, including your domain creativewellblog.com. This will lead to a total refund of $99. Your domain will become unavailable for several weeks; after this period, anyone may purchase the domain name. If you’d like a complete refund, and are okay with the prospect of potentially losing creativewellblog.com, this is the way you’ll want to proceed.
2) If you want to keep your domain, I can refund your Premium purchase, less the domain registration fee. This will lead to a total refund of $81. You will be able to continue to use your domain name, creativewellblog.com, or you can transfer it to use with another service elsewhere.
Please let me know how you’d like to proceed.

I have processed that refund for you and canceled the upgrade. Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
