Regain access to a domain
-
Hi, earlier today I purchased a domain through wordpress.com while simultaneously purchasing a subscription. I received a refund on the subscription because I realized I needed to do more research before I got started, but now the domain I had used has ‘expired’, and I’m unable to find it when I search it on other hosting platforms.

Hi there,
When you cancel a domain shortly after registration like that it does come back on sale again.
However, there is a 5 day grace period where it cannot be purchased so you may need to wait a few days, and then you should see it for sale again anywhere domains are sold to the public.
If you cannot afford to wait, please let us know and we can invoice you for the registration (which was refunded) and recover the domain for you. Once the domain is recovered it can be connected to any outside service or host, so you do not have to use it here.
Let us know how you would like to proceed or if you have any questions.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Can you quote me on the cost of the recovered domain? I think I’m likely to take you up on that offer actually.

It would be just $18 to register/recover a .com domain with us: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/

Ok, I have sent a payment request for the total of $18 to the email address on your account. Once the payment is sent, please reply here to let us know, and we will recover tunareads.com.
