Regaining Domain Access

Just cancelled my account with wordpress now I created a different website and want to know when my cancelled domain name will become available again for my new site! -

What is the domain you cancelled?
If it was a free *.wordpress.com address, you will not be able to re-use it. Deleted WordPress.com addresses are permanently removed, and cannot be re-used by another account. They can only be restored to the original owner if requested within 30 days of deletion.
If it was a custom domain name, cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.
It might be possible to still restore such a domain, but also only to the original owner.

Hello! Thanks for your response, it was a custom domain name: Drdevynchristian.com.
I had no idea canceling a domain name was such a bad idea! Hopefully I can retrieve it!

Hi there,
That domain will be released in approximately 5 days and you’ll be able to register it again through any registrar. However, when it will be released, anyone will be able to register it.
Alternatively, I can try and recover it and restore back to your WordPress.com account. This way though, you’ll need to keep your domain with us for 60 days before transferring it somewhere else. This 60-day lock is required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and cannot be waived. You’ll be able to point it through to your hosting provider by altering its DNS settings.
Let me know how you wish to proceed and if you go with the second option I’ll email you a payment request for the domain ($26).
