  why I am being asked to pay $18 for a FREE domain?

  That’s for a paid domain. In the Blog Address field, select .wordpress.com from the drop-down menu to the right to select the free option.

  Thank you — they send you straight to the pay window. NOW — why / who do I get my own image when I “customize” my page? I like Chateau but I cannot replace the image it comes with

  The link to the theme description of the theme you are using is in the footer of the theme. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/chateau/ You can click it and open it in a new tab. You can also click the live demo site for the theme. http://chateaudemo.wordpress.com/

  Note the theme Features links on the right hand side of the theme description page.
  Custom Header is included
  Now scroll down the theme description page to the bottom and look at the “Quick Specs:”
  The header image is 960 pixels wide and 262 pixels high.
  Go to > Dashboard > Appearance > Header and upload a header image there.
  If you need more information on the theme you now know where to find it. if you want more information about Custom Header Images then click the Support link on the bottom of your Admin page, enter Custom Header Image into the searchbox and you will find more. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/

  I tried to post a message about a particular country and its relationship to several other countries and potential actions relating to rumored infrastructure and it will not post!!?

  I will not use the “C” word but what is going on and who is monitoring my posts?

  I REALLY hope that I am being paranoid . . .

  I even tried to post the above and it will not let me . . .
