Release of a domain name in "wordpress.com"

    Hello
I currently have several running WordPress sites that I manage under my own personal profile.
Under this profile and for testing purposes, I created a URL for the site of my municipality (serzyetprin.wordpress.com), a site that I will bring back from Jimdo (before taking a paid package from WordPress when development is finished).
But ultimately, I prefer to create a specific user environment for the management of this site.
So I renamed this URL under my personal profile to “testserzy.wordpress.com” to release “serzyetprin.wordpress.com”.
Problem : when I want to recreate this URL under the new profile that I am in the process of setting up, I am told that the name “serzyetprin.wordpress.com” is not available : it takes how long for it to be free again?
    Thanks for the feedback
    Best regards
    Dominique

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As very very clearly stated during the rename process,

Once you change the “example” part of example.wordpress.com, the old address will stop working. Visitors will not be redirected to your new site address. The old address will not be available for use again.

For the user who cancels it, I agree, but for another user?!?!
The name is therefore dead forever and for the whole world ???

Second question: if I take serzyetprin51.wordpress.com, could I then change it to serzyetprin.fr (without the 51) name that I have today for my site hosted by Jimdo and that I intend to stop for a transfer to WordPress when the new one is ready ?
Thank you for your second answer

  • Deleted WordPress.com site addresses cannot be recovered.

You can definitely change to something like serzyetprin.fr though. Since you already own the domain, we have two options for that:

Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

Thank you for your clear answer.
So I will develop my site under “serzyetprin51.wordpress.com” and when I put it officially online, I will retrieve the current url (“serzyetprin.fr”) of the site from Jimdo and I will transfer the management to WordPress by subscribing to a premium plan …
