Releasing of domain

    How long has anyone ever had to wait for their domain to be released after being cancelled? I cancelled a purchase over a month ago and have just been advised that the cancellation process had not been started yet even though i got a refund within 48 hours?

    Hi there,

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. There is no fixed time, as it depends on several factors including the domain extension, when in the domain’s lifecycle it was cancelled, which registrar-partner we used to process the domain registration, etc.

    You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.
