Remove a site

Hi,
Can you be a bit more specific about what exactly you are trying to do? Are you wanting to remove a Jetpack connected site from your WordPress.com user account?
-
remove a wordpress site that isn’t our site but is about our organisation.
Our real site is https://cheadlescouts.org.uk/
-
The site can be deleted following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/ but you will need to be logged in as the WordPress.com account which owns the site, not the account you’re logged in as now.
If you do not recall the password for the correct site, we have some options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
-
We don’t know the account or email and think the person who made it might actually have passed away so no chance us finding it.
I did look through all the support topics and there is no option or way to contact support other than through report a site, which I have done.
As I have provided the relevant information can wordpress not just delete it, as it’s misleading to our members.
-
You can see our process and policy for a site with a deceased site owner here:
-
As I have already stated we don’t know who owns the site so all of the options above are not valid, I did look through your support pages at the above options posted.
The only way to contact is via this forum which I did, unless I sign up to a package then I can get a support contact.
There is no option to remove a site, other than to report it which I have now done so hopefully some common sense can be applied and it is removed? Perhaps attempt to contact the site owner and ask?
Thank you

2ndgsl, I’m sure you can understand why we can’t just take down sites without proof of ownership.
I’d recommend checking in with everyone who was around when the site was set up, and commenting on a post. Have them check their emails, including any older addresses. You’ll likely find the right person that way.

We have done this!
i’ve tried to contact the webmaster see below.

Unknown To addressHow to Fix It
The address may be misspelled or may not exist. Try one or more of the following:
Send the message again following these steps: In Outlook, open this non-delivery report (NDR) and choose Send Again from the Report ribbon. In Outlook on the web, select this NDR, then select the link “To send this message again, click here.” Then delete and retype the entire recipient address. If prompted with an Auto-Complete List suggestion don’t select it. After typing the complete address, click Send.
Contact the recipient (by phone, for example) to check that the address exists and is correct.
The recipient may have set up email forwarding to an incorrect address. Ask them to check that any forwarding they’ve set up is working correctly.
Clear the recipient Auto-Complete List in Outlook or Outlook on the web by following the steps in this article: Fix email delivery issues for error code 5.1.1 in Office 365, and then send the message again. Retype the entire recipient address before selecting Send.
If the problem continues, forward this message to your email admin. If you’re an email admin, refer to the More Info for Email Admins section below. -
There are no recent comments on the site, and that isn’t the address on the account.
Please try the suggestion recommended. Good luck!

We validate emails when the account is created, so it is valid.
Please send an email to
passwordhelp (at) wordpress (dot) comexplaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you.
