Remove account associated with WordPress site.

    I was added as an administrator (or have administrator privileges) to be a blog editor for a WordPress site in 2009: http://castb2009.wordpress.com. This site is connected to my then and current Gmail address. I now want to create my own WordPress site but the old site is still connected. I want to remove myself from the site but still want the site to be available as is.

    Any thoughts on how I can do this would be appreciated.

    I don’t know if this will work if you are an administrator of the site. Then again it might work if you lower your user level, if possible, before trying it. See the “Leave a Blog” section of the My Blogs support page, which says:

    If you no longer wish to be a Contributor, Author, or Editor of a blog, hover your mouse over the URL of the blog you wish to leave and click the Leave Blog link:

    Other possible alternatives:
    Your statement, “This site is connected to my then and current Gmail address,” suggests that you are the site owner, though I’m not sure what you mean by “connected” to your email address. Two of the options available to the site owner which would produce the result that you’re after (if I understand correctly what that is), may not be available to an administrator who is not the site owner, namely:

    1. Change the email address of the account bearing the site https://castb2009.wordpress.com/. This would open up the present email address for use on another account.

    2. Transfer the site to another account. See the Transferring a Site to Another WordPress.com Account support page.

    If you are the site owner, and choose to transfer the site to another WordPress.com account, the account that you transfer it to could be another account of yours. You may, if you wish or if necessary, create another account, which by necessity would have a different username and account email address, just for this purpose.
