Remove mapped domain

  • Unknown's avatar

I accidentally mapped the domain blue.andybeverly.com to the wrong site. Can someone unmap it for me, or is there a way I can do it? It is a free domain mapping, so there is no way to refund it (or apparently to remove it). Thank you.

  • Hi there,

I have removed the domain mapping subscription of blue.andybeverly.com from your account. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

    Hi,

    I made the same mistake,

I mapped the domain I own, journeytosuccess.org.uk wrongly.
I would like to transfer the domain away from the current registrar [fasthosts] instead.
How can I restart the process ?
    Thanks

  • @j2steam,

Please don’t post into threads created by other users. Your Personal Plan in fact gives you access to live chat and email support with issues like these, but you can only reach live chat if you open your own support request using the Help icon that appears bottom-right on all the My Site pages.

If you want to use that domain with your WordPress.com site, you should not remove the mapping. We do not support incoming transfers for .co.uk domains, so it’s not possible to transfer that domain to us. That means domain mapping is the only way to use that domain here.

Even if you could transfer it, there’s no need to remove a mapping first, as it’s possible to transfer a domain that is already mapped. The only reason you would need to remove a mapping is if a) you didn’t want the domain mapped at all, or b) you want it mapped to a different site. But in that case you should be able to just remove it yourself from the Purchases page:
