remove old site
-
Hi. So, I created this WordPress site…probably the better part of a decade ago. It appears my username was ‘meganguza,’ but when I try to retrieve the password for that username, I get a password reset for ‘meganguza1.’
That’s an issue because all I want to do is take meganguza.wordpress.com down. I have an actual profession website (to go with my professional career that I didn’t have back then) and I really really really want this old one to go away. I have various emails from WordPress dating back to like, 2015, if that can somehow help me get into this website to remove it. Each time I fill out the account recovery form, I get a message telling me I should be able to resolve the issue by resetting my password.
Please help. I want that monstrosity off the internet. Also, my headshot that’s on there is just depressing, because I haven’t been that skinny since like, 2013.WP.com: Yes

Ahhh I’m sorry. Let’s see what we can do.
First, do you remember what the email address on this was? I can see you’ve actually been resetting passwords for both accounts, so it’s no surprise this account got one.
But you should have another, separate email that got a password reset too. And I can see the reset emails we’re sending it are not bouncing back, so it’s likely still active even though it’s an old address.
If you’ve got that in the other email, can you either log out of this account to click the reset link, or use a private browser window and copy the link into that? That should let you reset it, if you’ve got access to that address.
If you’re still having trouble, let us know & we’ll reach out via email: it looks like that account also had a purchase on it, so we can help you regain access through that. Thanks!
