Remove the link from the attachment page.

  Ok, so I’ve just made a “blog” for my photography business.
  I made a gallery and every picture redirects to an attachment page, which in turns redirects to the original image link.
  Now I want to remove that link from the attachment page, and it is very important.
  Can someone please help me?

  Thank you. but there is still a ling above the image which links to the original image. I think this is a stupid link and should be removed.

  Why do you think removing the link is important? If you think one can’t copy your originals when there’s no such link, you’re wrong.

  You should be concerned about a different issue: you’ve been uploading unnecessarily huge files (the ones I checked were 4928px wide, high resolution, more than 7 or 9 MB each). This way you’re simply wasting loading time and storage space. You should make copies of your images, downsize them in an image editing application to a resolution of 72 (which is what all browser display) and a width up to 746px, give them meaningful names instead of retaining the numbers your digital camera produces, and upload and insert those copies.

  Thanks for the answer panaghiotisadam.. I thought about downsizing the images, something I will do. But why would i change the original file name?

  You’re welcome.

  I suggested renaming the files because their names become the titles of the respective attachment pages: I believe it’s better for a visitor to see a meaningful title than a number, and if you’re interested in your stats it makes it a lot easier for you to see which images your visitors have clicked.

  As for protecting your photos (if that was the reason you asked about the link removal), if a photo is published it can be copied one way or another (naturally I won’t list the ways). The only things you can do are upload small low-resolution copies instead of the originals, as I already suggested, and also watermark your images.
