Removing Comments
-
Hi, I have a comment posted on a WordPress site. I contacted the site owner through various means with no luck. Is there a way to remove a comment from years ago without the site owner’s actively responding back/ignoring me? Or is there a way for me contact the site owner somehow?

The blog I need help with isn’t this one. Ironic how I can’t edit or remove this question as well.

Hi there,
Only site owners can make changes to or delete comments left on their sites. We do not make changes to any content on sites without permission of the site owner, or unless it’s a terms of service, copyright or legal issue.
We cannot provide you with contact details for the site owner under any circumstances, so if they don’t respond to your attempts to contact theme, there’s nothing else we can do.

Can you guys change your policy in the future? I don’t see how this is beneficial for anybody on the internet. The owner of the comment should at least have the right to remove their comments. That’s like common sense, almost every other platform has that except WordPress.
Thanks for telling me there’s no other option. -
Thank you for the feedback, but we have no plans to change this – site owners have control over the content on their sites, no matter who submitted it, and we do not violate their ownership by removing content at the request of third parties.
WordPress.com is a hosting provider, not a social media platform, and no hosting provider will remove content from websites hosted with them. I know on social media platforms allow you to do this, but on those platforms you’re leaving a comment on the platform itself, not on a website owned by a specific individual.
