Removing 'date, author, etc' on gallery entries
-
I’m sorry if this is a silly question – i’m new to all this! – but i’m trying to create my blog to look more like a static website to show case my work.
I’ve found the gallery feature to be very successful for this and i even managed to work out how to remove the comments element from the images. I’m just wondering now if it’s possible to hide the “Posted on March 30, 2011 by MeganDow → 500 × 750” at the top of each gallery entry?
Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s not silly at all. While published dates were removed from Pages, it unfortunately didn’t carry over to the Attachment pages that appear in a Gallery. The fastest way to eliminate this problem is to change your Gallery settings and make the thumbnails link to the image itself and not the attachment page.
On my test blog, I just tried to insert thumbnail images individually and linked to their Attachment page *without* using the Gallery feature, and the Attachment page still displays the Page published date, so I don’t think there’s any other way around this but linking directly to images.
It may be possible if you know CSS and have the CSS upgrade. Not being a CSS expert we’ll have to wait for someone who can answer with more authority.

@justjennifer, thank you for you help. I tried what you suggested – linking thumbnails to the image itself – but then when i clicked on the thumbnail on my blog it went to a page with just the image on it alone. On the plus side, the “page publish date” is no longer there … but the presentation of the image is not as good! Oh dear, I wish i understood CSS!
Does anyone else know a non-CSS solution???
Many thanks!

It also looks like the author, date, etc., info display might be theme specific. The newer themes seem to include this information while the older themes do not. So you might experiment with different themes.
