Removing domain from my account

    Hello! I registered a domain a couple days ago on wordpress.com, but I made the decision to register it through bluehost/wordpress.org. I refunded the domain on wordpress.com, and I successfully purchased it back through bluehost, but it still says wordpress.com owns my domain. How do I fix this issue?

    Hi there,

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

    I assume you’re speaking of vv-films.com? That domain should be released again in a few days’ time, at which point you can try to register it somewhere else.

    We also still have the option of restoring that domain to your account with us, but we have no way of manually releasing the domain so you can buy it from Bluehost sooner.
