Removing featured image from post but not from home page

    Hello,
I’m trying to remove the featured image from my post so that it doesn’t show duplicates of the page. When i remove the featured image on the post it removes it from the home page as well. I would like to leave the image on the homepage but remove it from the post.
    Thank you,
    Emily

    Hi Emily,

You can’t ordinarily remove featured images from the posts on a WordPress.com site and have them appear in a home page which is a grid-based or tiled posts page consisting of image links, because the content of the home page is dependent upon the featured images of the posts. However, it might be possible to hide the featured images on the single posts, yet display them on the posts page, but this would require CSS Customization. If you wish to pursue the CSS customization route, do one of the following:

    • 1. Add a modlook tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.
    • 2. Resubmit your request to the CSS Customization forum.

Alternatively, you might consider leaving the featured images assigned to the posts and removing the images from the post content, though this will eliminate all of the options available at Image Details in a post editor.

    Regards,
    doc
