removing footer WordPress.com credit

    hello

looking through your help info I came across this on page http://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/:

“Note: VIP and WordAds users/blogs are able to run their own ads, but standard accounts are not. See this page on advertising for more information on running ads on your blog. In addition, this does not remove the WordPress.com footer credit.”

It’s pretty ambiguous. Does it mean that paying for no ads does or doesn’t remove the footer credit? If not, how do I remove it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The footer credit is required to be displayed according to our terms of service:
    http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

Note that even sites hosted through our VIP program, such as the TED blog, display a credit to WordPress.com in the footer.

Let me know if you have any additional questions about this.

    thanks. another question:

Is there any way to avoid the word “home” in the menu? I would prefer “about”, “products”, “contact”, “blog”, etc and chose to have the landing page as one of those.

    Hi there,

You can customize exactly what appears in your menu by setting up a custom menu. We have a guide for that here: Custom Menus

You can also choose what page is used as the front page (landing page) for the site under Settings > Reading in the dashboard: Front Page
