removing posts from front page
-
How do I remove the posts from the front page and put them on the category pages I have created? The posts are older than the new theme I have chosen, and they appear on every page I have created. I would like to have NO posts on the front page, and be able to post separately to each of my other pages – so the post content on each page is relevant ONLY to that category page.
thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can change what you have displayed on your front page (either your posts page or another page you have created) by logging into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and going to Reading–> Settings. At the top you will see an option to set your front page.

Okay, so I did that, and the old posts I made before I created the secondary pages (Jewellery and Travel) still appear on my front page. I want the front page to be a static page with NO posts on it. The posts should appear ONLY on the category pages (Jewellery or Travel). HELP!!

My apologies, the link is to a screenshot of what I see when I view your front page. I should have been more clear.

So, the list of posts that is #2 on that screenshot is a sidebar widget. To remove it, log into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and go to Appearance–> Widgets. Then under “Primary Sidebar” click “Recent Posts” and then click “delete”.
Or, if you want to hide that list from your front page but keep it elsewhere, click “visibility” and set it to “hide if page is front”.
Let me know if you have any trouble.

Very nice – that worked! I did not know I had a widget. Now, how do I separate my posts by page – i.e. travel posts on travel page, jewellery posts on jewellery page??

This page should fill you in on that:

I have already put categories in place for each post I’ve made, but they all still show up on both category pages as well as the front page. Also, I applied the “Auto Focus” theme to my blog, but it shows up only on the Travel page. HELP!!

One more thing: the Travel Adventures page should have two sub-categories in place, but they don’t show up anywhere.

You can add category pages in your custom menu by following the steps in this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-category-pages
The custom menu also allows you to create sub-menu items. That’s also described in the above guide.
