Rename a file image

  Hi,

  I upload some images using default name like ds0001.jpg and now I would like to rename it to my_photo.jpg.

  Is this possible?

  Just edit the slug of each image to be modified, at Media Library > Edit Media.

  Hi,

  tried to do that and the URL gets renamed, however, if I go to a blog post and click on that picture it gives me 404 error.

  Is there anything else to try?

  Yes. You’ll have to replace any images that are embedded in posts or pages, and those in a post or page gallery, whether the gallery is displayed or not. Thought you were just asking for how to edit media library files.

  Personally, I would delete the images with the file names I didn’t want, rename them in my Windows files, and then upload them to the page or post I intend to attach them to. Sometimes I’ll upload directly to the media library.
