Renew domain parked
-
Hello, I purchased Temenoswell.com today, then realized I wanted it with my other website hosting service BlueHost. So I deleted Temenoswell.com with WordPress, but now it’s parked?
I’d like to figure out how I can get this domain back. I don’t care if it ends up with BlueHost or WordPress, but my preference is BlueHost, then continue using WordPress for the website. But if I need to use WordPress for hosting, then I will!
Please let me know what I need to do to fix this.
Thank you so much!! Kiel

Hey there,
You canceled the domain within 5 days of registering it, so it should be available again soon. Once a domain name is deleted by the registry at this stage, it is immediately available for registration by any registrant through any Registrar, and that happens shortly after the 5-day grace period.
We can immediately restore the domain for you within that 5-day period, but after that, we no longer have control over it. So, depending on where you want to register the domain (with us or Bluehost), you should decide ASAP on how you want it re-registered.
You can always point the domain over to your host from WordPress.com until the 60-day transfer lock is lifted (where you can transfer the domain anywhere you please). That will at least guarantee you will get it back without any potential complications. Let me know. Thanks,

Hello!
So to make sure I’m following you, if I wait 5 days I should be able to register it anywhere? (assuming someone else doesn’t grab it) Or, I could register with you all again now, then transfer it in 60 days if I still wanted to? Correct?
Sorry, I’m just a hobbiest nerd, so I want to make sure I’m understanding you correctly. Thanks!

The timeline’s a little more vague than that unfortunately – basically, the window we have in which we can restore it for you is 5 days; after that the domain starts going through the deletion process. We don’t have a specific timeline for how long that takes; hopefully only a few days but we don’t actually get any sort of notification that it’s deleted and available to register elsewhere. Our domain cancellation guide has some more info about this.
You could absolutely re-register the domain through us (it’s a manual process – we’d need to bill you for the refunded domain registration fee, and then we can get the domain restored); and doing so means that you can connect it to your Bluehost account to start using it before that 60-day limit is up. After the 60-day limit, you can of course transfer the registration to Bluehost.
I hope that helps! Let us know sooner than later if you’d want to restore the domain through us, so we can get that process started.

Alright, I’ve read the Cancellation Guide and think the best option for me at this point would be to re-register it with WP and then transfer it later. But before I do so, I want to confirm what the fee would be for that? Is it the normal fee for the domain again, or are there additional fees?
Thank you!

It’s the normal fee! As long as we move fast, the domain won’t reach anything like the redemption stage of domain expiry (which would apply an additional fee).
In the interest of making sure we can get it re-registered/restored for you, I’ve taken the liberty of preparing a manual payment form which has been emailed to you – please do check in your spam folder if it’s not in your inbox!
Let us know when you’ve had a chance to submit it, so that we can make sure the domain is set back up for you.

Hello! We received your payment, thank you! We’re working on restoring that domain, and will confirm with you as soon as it’s done. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

@farlandart thank you for your patience; we were able to get this back for you.
You can point the domain to your new host with these steps, and then transfer it (if you’d like) when it’s 60 days old. Let us know if you need more help!
