Renewal for Domain Mapping for Blog

  I have become administrator of this account, but didn’t set it up. We’ ve received a renewal invoice for the domain registration and domain mapping for the blog. I understand domain registration but do not understand the fee for domain mapping for the blog. The blog is not used independently of the laurelpres.wordpress website and does not necessarily need a link to it from another source or linking it to another domain name. Please explain this fee and if it is mandatory.

  Hi there!

  The Domain Mapping upgrade is what connects laurelpres.wordpress.com to laurelpres.com. In order to have a domain registered here at WordPress.com, you’ll need the Domain Mapping upgrade.
