Renewing a domain

  I have had a domain in use for a few years now, unfortunatelly since my card information changed the subsciption expired and I could not renew it even though I added new card information. It just took me to a page where it said that the subsciption has expired and there was no payment method. So I cancelled the domain, thinking I could just buy it again, but now it’s claiming it’s taken. Is there anything to do?

  Hi there,

  It can take several weeks for a domain registrar to fully cancel and release a newly registered domain. If you want, you can wait for the domain to be fully cancelled so you can try to register it again. However, there is no guarantee that you will recover the domain because anyone can register it once it is available.
