Request for deletion/removal of all of my email subscribers
-
Hi. I learned from previous research that I am not able to delete my email subscribers. My blog is generally only of interest to subscribers for a one year period. I did ask in a previous post on my blog that they unsubscribe (highlighting it in red and mentioning the link was at the bottom of the email). Only a few of them actually did so.
I’m ready to start a new academic year of posting, but I am uncomfortable doing so with these “old” subscribers getting email updates. I’m confident that even if I were to post several additional requests for them to unsubscribe, some will not. I would not be surprised if a few of them have some sort of issue with this (regardless of ease). Also, a few may want to just hang around, but I really do not want them to have this option.
So… I am requesting that all (100%) of my email subscribers be deleted (I read in another post that someone from WORDPRESS will need to do this). I hope that I am posting/requesting this in the proper place and if I am mistaken about other options in getting this done, please let me know (it would be nice if I had more control of this myself and was a bit surprised when I learned that I did not). Thanks for your help.

Only the subscriber can unsubscribe him or herself.
Any WordPress.com user can subscribe by email at any time via the Follow link in their Admin Bar, if they are logged into WordPress.com. And I see you offer the email subscription via the widget as well. There is nothing preventing people from resubscribing even if WordPress.com removes them for you.
On top of everything else, there is also the RSS feed of your site, which anyone can subscribe to at any time.
You could simply pick up and create a new blog for your new class (mrcorley2012?). This won’t prevent the old subscribers from subscribing to the new blog, but you don’t have to give them the new address.

I do not see any of these people taking the time, making the effort, or even thinking about subscribing again (and if they did, I would not have a problem with that as that means they REALLY want to do so).
I just did not want to start making posts (I do a lot in a short amount of time during this time of year) and bother people that were just “busy” or “confused” and did not unsubscribe. I’m pretty confident that I will be getting some emails with “remove me!” as the subject.
I thought about starting a new blog, but this one is ranked #1 in many search engines with certain key words , has old post that I am going to make minor changes to and re-post under a new date, is already the way I like it, and etc. Also, I like the idea that new subscribers can go back and look at old postings if they are so motivated.
I saw on a post here a few weeks ago where someone from WORDPRESS had offered to remove a few individual subscribers for a user and just thought it might be done for me too.
Thanks anyway.

You can certainly contact support directly when they return on the 17th and request that they remove the subscribers for you. None of us forum volunteers have access to the working end of your blog. Just be aware that, as mentioned in my earlier comment, you won’t be able to prevent anyone from resubscribing.
Cheers!
