  Hello,

  I am writing this to request for a EPP code. I recently signed up a domain name with WordPress.com and decided to migrate my site to WordPress.org. However, it does not allow me to do so. Therefore, I cancelled the domain with WordPress.com and I found that my domain name is parked with ‘Automatic’. Please help me as I really need nack my domain name.

  Hey there,

  If you’re wanting to transfer your domain, you should never cancel it at your current host because once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

  However, if the domain has been registered for under 60 days, you won’t be able to transfer it yet. In the meantime, you can change the nameservers over to your site host:

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.
