Request For Getting An Occupied Username

    Hi WordPress,

    I want to change my username to ‘SaferSky’, but it seems that this name was occupied since Jan/2013. I don’t know if anyone would use this username except me, and I total forgot my password if I owned this account.
    I also checked the site associated with this username: ‘www.safersky.wordpress.com’, it seems that the site was deleted.
    I am guessing this account is currently inactivate (If I did own this account, then it makes sense)?

    So if by any chance, can I get this username and its wordpress URL? Thank You!!

    Hi there, Usernames are not recycled and the username account SaferSky was registered in 2017.

    If you are the owner of that username account, you can try to recover it by filling out the account recovery form on this page, if relevant: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

    However, a deleted site address is no longer available for recovery by the site owner once the 30 day recovery period has passed. https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/#reverse-a-site-deletion

    All said and done, the easier course of action might be to register a custom domain and use it on your current or a new WordPress.com website instead.
