Request Help With My Website – New Member

My website isn’t working properly and I wonder if a kind WP developer would assist me. https://www.juliebradleyauthor.com/
My website was designed by me and created by a professional. Now I need to learn how to work on it myself and am excited about the possibility of being to make things happen on my own (with your help initially!). If you scroll down on the home page you will see that there are four categories of articles. These used to be on a carousel which for some reason stopped working. I prefer it without the carousel, but some other things went haywire when that happened.
If you go to a category of articles you will see that the sentences all run together and there is no photo from the article to entice readers further.
Also, I need to streamline my categories. On the right side there are too many categories including one called Uncategorized which definitely needs removing. I would like advice on how to show readers what articles in each subject are available.
There are other things I want to do with my website, but my priority is getting it shipshape. Please help!! JulieI am a new member so if this is too much to ask please tell me gently!

It looks like your site is using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but is hosted with another webhost.
