This is a “Request to Start Over – Please Clear Out My Content but Keep My Site and URL.” The link I clicked on to “just contact us to have your current content cleared out” sent me to this forum. Thought the link was to WordPress Customer Support? So, I’m asking WordPress Customer Support to read this post and take the action, as their link said they would do.

Staff can empty sites of content if there are many years worth of posts and images. More usually this is something you do yourself by clicking on “Settings” on the left and scrolling down on the right to “Start over”. But, unless I’m missing something, the site linked to your one-day-old account doesn’t have any content to delete.

I’m just asking WordPress to do what they stated they would do. The “Start Over” function doesn’t do anything – just tells you to delete everything manually or click the link like I did to have WordPress do it. The site is full of everything the template establishes; so, it’s far from empty. After signing-up and using one of their templates, they sent me a link to 10-days of lessons to learn WordPress, but the instruction is geared towards a clean, new site, where at the very end a template may be applied.

All you have on your site is an empty theme. You can’t delete it and leave a blank page and build your own theme from scratch at WordPress.com. If you don’t like the Goran theme you just click on “Themes” and choose to activate a different one. Personally, as all themes/templates are different in where things are positioned I’d think I’d decide on a theme (by looking at some demos) first rather than “at the very end”.

I found the instruction for what I needed and have taken care of it. By the way, you might want to go through the same tutorial to learn about WordPress, especially about the Start Over details and how templates work. Also, here’s what WordPress sent in regards to selecting a template first like I mistaking did and you thought best to do:

P.S. You might be asking, “Why aren’t we selecting themes first?” Creating some site content will make it much easier to choose the theme that best suits your business. It’s hard to know whether a theme truly fits on a site without content.
    Cheers,
