Resetting Password – but the old email address is DEAD.
-
You’d think, in the history of email and websites, this would have come up once before – and be addressed somewhere on wordpress’s site. I created a site. I no longer have the email address I used to set up that account. Now, to retrieve the password, wordpress is sending reset emails to that old email address… that doesn’t exist and I can’t access.
Is there anything I can do… since wordpress employs no people and the bots don’t have a phone number?
thanks

I have the same problem and I really need help because my wordpress had private journal entries that I cannot lose. If someone could help, that’d be great..

I think it’s come up a million times before. You’re in the Catch 22 situation that doesn’t just apply to WordPress.com. Passwords are important and need to be saved somewhere/even written down. No one else is going to know your password. Likewise if you change your email address you have to let everyone know your new email address that may need to get in touch with you in the future such as your family, the power company, your internet provider…even WordPress.com.

I’ve seen the form but I don’t have any of those proof of ownership.
I have no transaction ID because I used it just as a personal blog, no upgrades just used it for its basic function.
I don’t have activation URL or key because the email is GONE.
I don’t have two factor authentication code because I never set that up!Am I just doomed or what…

I wish I could help, I really do, but apart from hypnosis to help recall your password…………….
