Resizing images

  • Unknown's avatar

How do I change the size of my images so that they are all the same size? I don’t have a pro plan but I feel like resizing images should be something I can do without it. The resizing features on the image only let me resize the entire image at a time, instead of individually changing the height/width of the image. When I edit the HTML or edit the dimensions of the block, they shift wildly out of proportion. I just want my images to be the same size and in line with each other. Please help

  • Hi there,

This is correct, yes. Resizing just horizontally or vertically would result in stretched or squashed images, and that won’t look good.

What you’re looking for is a cropping feature, where you cut off a section of the image along one or more edge to change the image’s actual dimensions. You can do this by editing the image in the media library directly, but it’s better to use actual photo editing software to do this on your computer before you upload the image to WordPress.com.
