  Hi,

  I opened an account today. I then closed my account because one of the sites had the incorrect domain name (I’m not even sure how I ended up 2 sites). I then tried to repurchase my plan within an hour of cancelling it, so I could correct the domain name but now its saying the .com isn’t available. My name is pretty unique so I know its not actually being used by anyone. Is there anyway to get my domain name back and also correct it?

  What is the domain you’re trying to use?

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

  It might be possible to still restore the domain, but we can only do that if the request comes from the account that originally bought and cancelled the domain, which is not the account you’re using to post here.

  If you’d made a mistake it would have been better to open a support ticket so we could have helped you fix it.
