Restore from backup

    Hi
    I recently moved my website hosting and lost my WordPress site.
    I now have the backup folder from the old host.
    How do I set up a new WordPress site with this backup?

    Any help would be amazing

    Hi there,

    A backup folder like that cannot be uploaded to a new site on WordPress.com. The only option to import another site to WordPress.com is using the .xml import file generated from the admin area on a WordPress site.

    To upload that backup you’ll need to set up WordPress hosting using the open source version of WordPress, at a host that offers FTP access, and then follow that hosting provider’s instructions for uploading your files.
